Parent Conference 2015

Parent Conference

Parents from throughout Monterey County participated in a FREE Parent Conference on October 10th at Hartnell College.  The conference was entitled:  Education - The Road to Success and was conducted in both Spanish and English.  There were an array of sessions on early childhood, elementary school years, and middle and high school years, each highlighting the fundamental ways parents can help their students to achieve.

The Parent Conference concluded a week-long multimedia education campaign produced by Univision/Entravision Communications.  The campaign underscored the critical importance of parents as lifelong advocates for education in their children's lives from birth to career.

Presenters and sponsors of the event included:  First 5 Monterey County, Monterey County Children's Council and the Early Child Development Initiative, Monterey County Office of Education's Head Start and Migrant Education Region XVI programs, Hartnell College, Univision, Entravision and Radio Tricolor.  La Hacienda Mexican Grill provided a free breakfast and lunch.
