C:\fakepath\wordle-pbis.pngPositive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture and needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (school-wide), secondary (classroom), and tertiary (individual) systems of support that improve lifestyle results (personal, health, social, family, work, recreation) for all youth by making targeted misbehavior less effective, efficient, and relevant, and desired behavior more functional.

District Leadership Training for Systems and Culture Change

This training series assists district leadership teams establishing the components of culture and systems change for their school sites in: 

  • Strategic planning
  • Effective implementation and evaluation
  • Resource allocation
  • Policy development

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) District Coaches Training

This training builds local capacity within districts to provide continuing coaching support and district leadership to support school implementation efforts. PBIS coaches will receive training in a handful of areas:

  • Providing on-site coaching and professional development support to school teams
  • Facilitating PBIS leadership meetings
  • Coordinating district action planning

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS)- Tier 1

The team training will guide school teams through the development and implementation of a school-wide PBIS. The training sequence includes many elements:

  • School-wide rules defining behavioral expectations across settings
  • Lesson plans for teaching expectations
  • Acknowledgment and consequence systems
  • Data-based decision making

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS)- Tier 2

This training guides school teams through the development and implementation of a Check In/Check Out system for Tier 2 intervention. The training sequence includes:

  • Data-based decision making problem solving, and progress monitoring
  • Student identification and participation criteria
  • Development of daily behavior cards
  • Processes for Implementing across settings, throughout the school day

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS)- Tier 3

The team training will guide district teams through the development and implementation of a function-based approach to addressing behavior. The training sequence includes many elements:

  • Re-design and improvement of learning and teaching environments
  • Develop and implement a function­-based approach to addressing behavior and how behavior supports are used in successful PBIS implementation
