Monterey County Office of Education

Leadership, Support and Service to Prepare All Students for Success

Dr. Nancy Kotowski, County Superintendent of Schools

The Monterey County Office of Education, Migrant Education Program is honored to host binational teachers from Mexico for a 6-8 week period during the summer months to support with the program's Summer Academies. The binational teachers are from three states in Mexico (Michoacan, Guanajuato, and Oaxaca) and are here to support students with their academic skills, cultural proficiency and appreciation, and motivation. The binational teachers also work with migrant parents to provide them with the tools and information necessary to be involved in their child's education.
